A. investigate how the interaction between the deep mantle and the lithosphere affects lithosphere deformation
B. construct models for plate evolution by best integrating observational constraints on plate rheology and fluid transport
2) Group II: Surface-tectonic feedbacks
A. investigate constraints and processes for time-dependent evolution of the stress field
B. investigate interrelationship between surface processes and lithospheric strain
